🔺”Basic hygiene is mandatory” Multiple people said showering, brushing teeth, and washing hands would be required. It reflects Reddit’s sense of humor and how the community likes to poke fun at itself.

🔺”Don’t be a jerk to people” The most popular answer was essentially treat people with basic respect and remember there’s a human behind every username. This reflects Reddit’s community-first culture where authentic engagement matters more than follower counts.

🔺”You can’t participate until you earn the right” Some focused on the classic Reddit catch-22, you need karma to participate, but you need to participate to get karma. It’s actually a pretty good metaphor for how reputation works on the platform.

🔺”Kiss up to the mods or get kicked out” A lot of people said you’d have to be overly nice to moderators in their own rooms or risk getting banned. This shows how much power dynamics play into the Reddit experience across different communities… and how it can be frustrating at times.

🔺”Always carry a poop knife” Because it’s Reddit and that story will never die. These inside jokes show how Reddit creates its own cultural touchstones that become part of the unwritten rules.

What’s interesting is how each answer reveals something different about what people think defines the Reddit experience. Some focused on basic human decency, others on platform mechanics, and some on the weird cultural elements that make Reddit unique.

It’s a perfect example of how Reddit discussions can reveal genuine insights about what really matters in digital communities.
